HOUSE RULES AND CONDITIONS


   Rental conditions/ House rules in Short

1. Booking & Occupancy

  • A booking at Ostrich Hide is confirmed once the required payment has been received and the booking has been confirmed by the owner or booking platform.
  • The maximum occupancy is 4 guests. Only the number of guests stated in the booking may stay at the property.
  • The property may only be used as holiday accommodation and may not be sublet or transferred to third parties without prior permission.
  • By making a booking, the guest agrees to these Rental Terms & Conditions, as well as the House Rules and Cancellation Policy.

2. Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, preferably before dark.
  • Please inform us in advance of your expected arrival time.
  • Our hostess, Galina, will meet you at Ostrich Hide upon arrival and provide the keys.
  • Later check-in times must be arranged with us in advance.
  • Check-out is by 10:00 AM, unless otherwise agreed.
  • The property must be left clean and tidy at check-out, with dishes washed and rubbish removed to the designated collection point.

3. Breakage Deposit

  • A refundable breakage deposit of R2,000 is required.
  • Payment details will be provided before arrival. Overseas guests may pay the deposit in cash upon arrival.
  • The deposit will be refunded after departure, provided there is no damage or loss and the house and its contents have been left in good condition.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage, loss or excessive cleaning resulting from their stay.
  • Any applicable costs may be deducted from the breakage deposit. If the costs exceed the deposit, the guest remains responsible for the outstanding amount.
  • Please report any damage to our hostess, Galina, as soon as possible.

4. Use of the Property

  • Guests are expected to treat Ostrich Hide, its furnishings and equipment with care.
  • The property may not be used for parties, events or commercial activities without prior written permission.
  • Smoking is not permitted inside the house.
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Guests must comply with the House Rules and all applicable Marloth Park rules and regulations.

5. What Is Included

     The rental rate includes:

  • Bed linen and towels
  • Kitchen and swimming towels
  • Gas, water and electricity
  • DSTV streaming
  • Uncapped Wi-Fi
  • Local taxes
  • Security services

6. Utilities & Services

  Ostrich Hide is located in a bush environment where occasional interruptions to electricity or water supply may occur.          Load-shedding and other interruptions beyond our control do not constitute grounds for a refund.

  The owners cannot be held responsible for noise caused by neighbours, other holidaymakers, building work or other             activities outside the property.

7. Wildlife & Surroundings

  Ostrich Hide is situated in Marloth Park, where wild animals roam freely.

  Guests acknowledge that wildlife is present in and around the property and agree to follow all safety instructions. Wildlife    behaviour cannot be predicted, and the owners cannot be held responsible for incidents resulting from interactions with      wild animals.

8. Personal Belongings & Vehicles

  Guests are responsible for their personal belongings, luggage and vehicles during their stay.

  The owners cannot be held responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings or vehicles, except where                liability cannot legally be excluded.

9. Damage & Misuse

  Any serious damage to the property, furniture, equipment or other contents caused by the guest or members of their            party must be reported immediately.

  Damage resulting from negligence, misuse or failure to follow the House Rules may be charged to the guest.

10. Problems During Your Stay

  If you experience any problem during your stay, please contact Galina as soon as possible so that we have 

  the opportunity to assist you.

  For security-related problems or disturbances, guests may also contact the local security service.

11. Cancellation

  Cancellations are subject to our Cancellation Policy.

  Our current Cancellation Policy is available on our website and forms part of the booking conditions.

12. Acceptance

  By making a booking and accepting the keys to Ostrich Hide, the guest confirms that they have read, understood and          agreed to these Rental Terms & Conditions, the House Rules and the Cancellation Policy.
